Summerland Sauce Project 2.0 - Coming Soon “Everything Sauce” (Okanagan, BC)
Summerland Sauce Project 2.0
Coming Soon
Vancouver + Okanagan
Round two of the Summerland Sauce Project is jarred and nearly ready: a shelf-stable Summerland Everything Sauce from Ned Bell, made with Rad Jamz, with 100% of profits going to LocalMotive co-op farmers.
Summerland Everything Sauce is a shelf-stable peach and pepper relish made in partnership with Kyla King at Rad Jamz. The recipe follows what the farmers needed Ned to use, so this is a one-time flavour in a one-time run.
Only 600 jars exist. At $20 each, every jar sends 100% of its profits to LocalMotive co-op farmers, with zero admin fees.
Spoon it onto charcuterie boards, burgers, sausages, grilled cheese sandwiches and roasted meats, or stir it into soups and stews.
Launch details are coming soon. Fair warning from the chef: they will sell in a hurry.
This summer, the Bald Range wildfire left Okanagan growers with ripe crops and nowhere to sell them. Chef Ned Bell and farmer Thomas Tumbach of the LocalMotive Farmers Network Cooperative answered with the Summerland Sauce Project. Ned spent more than 60 hours in the kitchen turning rescued produce into 910 litres of sauce. Together, the community saved more than 4,000 pounds of produce and raised over $22,000 for farmers.
