Ned Bell returns to CooksCamp in Pemberton for another three days of industry connections, mentorship, learning — plus plenty of cooking.

Set amidst the rows of the Sturdy family’s North Arm Farm, COOKSCAMP occupies a small parcel of the stunning 55 acres in the spectacular Pemberton Valley. Get comfortable next to row upon row and patch upon patch of cauliflower, cabbage, beans, salsify, garlic, kale, parsnips, squash, beets, and – most importantly – next to each other. As the setting for many a legendary long table dinner, the location is experienced at bringing food-loving people together.

Anchored by seminars, real-time demonstrations and practical workshops, COOKSCAMP will be  that focus on the real-world aspects of a cook’s life. From expert guidance on butchery and farm-to-table agriculture to spirited presentations and round table discussions on mental health, the future of our industry which will all culminate in a special dinner on the farm, Canada’s Largest Staff Meal. The entire itinerary is being structured by working cooks for working cooks.

Ned Bell

Ned Bell is currently Creative Advisor for Okanagan College’s $61.3M Centre for Food, Wine and Tourism, the face of two of Destination BC’s new iconic tourism brand videos, and the only Canadian chef on the Monterey Bay Aquarium’s Seafood Watch Blue Ribbon Task Force. His 30-year career spans fine dining, luxury hotel leadership, hospital food transformation, government partnership work, and two decades of sustainable seafood advocacy — including founding Chefs for Oceans and cooking for the United Nations. He works at the place where food, systems, and real change intersect.
