Ned Bell joins Nourish's 2026 Food for Health Symposium, October 7-8 in Vancouver, co-hosted by Vancouver Coastal Health under the theme Who Health Care Feeds. The gathering brings health executives, clinicians, Indigenous leaders, farmers, processors and policymakers together around a question the food world rarely asks: what are we serving the people who are most unwell? At its centre is 100 Million Better Bites, a push to make hospital food plant-forward, culturally meaningful and sustainably sourced by 2030. It is exactly the intersection of health, climate and dinner that Ned has spent his career pushing on.

Ned Bell is currently Creative Advisor for Okanagan College’s $61.3M Centre for Food, Wine and Tourism, the face of two of Destination BC’s new iconic tourism brand videos, and the only Canadian chef on the Monterey Bay Aquarium’s Seafood Watch Blue Ribbon Task Force. His 30-year career spans fine dining, luxury hotel leadership, hospital food transformation, government partnership work, and two decades of sustainable seafood advocacy — including founding Chefs for Oceans and cooking for the United Nations. He works at the place where food, systems, and real change intersect.
